About Francis Cronin

Francis Cronin is an Irish stand-up comedian, actor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He performs in English, Spanish and French, and his story-driven sets draw on army life, modern dating and life as an outsider in America.

Stand-up. Cronin has opened for Jay Leno and for Kevin James on his stand-up tour, toured with Kev Adams and shared stages with Bill Burr and Jeff Garlin. He has performed stand-up on Hulu’s LaughsTV and played the Burbank Comedy Festival in 2024 and 2026, including its Jay Leno shows and “Best of the Fest.” He has also played the Glendale Laughs Comedy Festival and a July 4th crowd of more than 3,000 at the San Diego County Fair. A regular at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, he headlined its Main Room in September 2026.

The walk. On Dec. 15, 2018, he set out from San Francisco with a small backpack, a waterproof sleeping bag and no tent. He arrived in Los Angeles on Jan. 29, 2019, after sleeping rough every night and performing stand-up along the way, and raised $20,000 for Homeless Health Care Los Angeles. A year later he crossed Ireland on foot from Galway to Dublin for the Simon Community. The walk is the throughline of his new hour.

Screen. He plays Danny Clogan, Kevin James’ sidekick, in Guns Up with Christina Ricci, Luis Guzmán and Melissa Leo; the film topped the streaming charts on Paramount+. He appears opposite Bruce Willis in Deadlock and Detective Knight: Independence. He co-directed the TIME Studios documentary The Ascent, winner of the 2026 SXSW Audience Award for Documentary Feature. He is a full-scholarship graduate of the Stella Adler Academy of Acting.

Hosting. Cronin is a host and Host Team Lead for Bingo Loco, the live “bingo rave” that tours North America, and hosts corporate and casino events.

Before comedy. He served with the Irish Army in the UN Quick Reaction Force in Liberia and received an officer’s commission from the President of Ireland. At home he first became known as NUI Galway’s “Tent Boy,” documenting a year of living in a tent on campus on his YouTube channel, GlowPunk.
